CEA Appoints Bradley, Caldero To Board Of Directors

Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Chairman Darrell Issa announced that Tom Bradley of Gateway and Steve Caldero of Yamaha Electronics have been appointed to the association's Board of Directors. The two will begin their terms immediately. Bradley and Caldero join a board that currently represents more than 600 CEA members, accounting for more than $60 billion in annual sales of consumer technologies. ""The addition of Steve and Tom to our board brings a wealth of experience and expertise,"" commented Gary Shapiro, President and CEO of CEA. ""Gateway's products sit at the crossroads of consumer electronics and information technology, and facilitate the 'workstyle' trend that is fueling tremendous growth in our industry. Yamaha has long stood as a leader in the consumer electronics community, and we are privileged to have them continue that tradition of leadership in the association and the industry."" Tom Bradley is Executive Vice President, Global Operations for Gateway. Bradley also leads the company's worldwide manufacturing, information technology, business process simplification, supply chain management and business development functions. He joined Gateway in September 1998 as Senior Vice President with responsibility for the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. Before joining Gateway, Bradley served as President and CEO of Transport International Pool (TIP), a GE Capital Services Company. Prior to that, he was President of NCH Promotional Services, a subsidiary of The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation. He also served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the EMEA operations of A.C. Nielsen, and was a vice president of Federal Express. Steve Caldero is currently Vice President of Sales for Yamaha Electronics and is responsible for all sales and marketing activities for the company, as well as product development, sales promotions and product events. During his 13 years with Yamaha, he has served as National Sales Manager for the Home Audio Group, Concert Systems - National Sales Manager and Western Regional Sales Manager for Home Audio. Caldero is also involved with both the City of Hope and Make-A-Wish Foundation. Other CEA officers and board members will be elected at an upcoming meeting of the board, to be held during the association's Industry Forum and Fall Conference next month. The Industry Forum and Fall Conference will be held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California, from October 15-18. Subtitled ""Leading Edge: Seizing Opportunities In The Digital Age,"" the conference will provide attendees with insight into the digital future and the tools they need to lead in the consumer technology marketplace. The three-day event will include educational sessions, CEA member meetings and a CE Industry Marketplace featuring as many as 20 tabletop exhibits by sponsoring companies.
