The TLP470 weighs in at just 7.9 pounds, and the TLP471, which includes the company's unique built-in ""Visualizer"" document camera, weighs just 9.7 pounds. For the ultimate in convenience and flexibility, both models feature T-ForcMK2 computer interfaces, making them fully compatible with PC workstations.""The arrival of our first ultra-lightweight 1200 ANSI lumens LCD projectors is a milestone in this industry, and really underscores our overall commitment to providing consumers with the widest variety of high-performance projectors for every application and user,"" noted Sam Malik, Director of National Sales and Marketing, Multimedia Products Group. ""When we announced the expansion of our LCD projector line last year, we stated that our goal was to help expand the LCD projector market by introducing unique high-quality products that utilize the most advanced digital display technologies and make high-impact presentations easier to deliver than ever before. With the introduction of the TLP471 and the TLP470, we are continuing to build upon that promise.""Ideal for use with all computers, VCRs, camcorders and DVD players, Toshiba's new TLP471 and TLP470 LCD projectors display images in sizes ranging from just 22 inches for small-room presentations to gigantic 25-foot pictures for large audiences. Both models feature true SVGA (800 x 600) and XGA (1024 x 768 compressed) display capability, and accept NTSC, PAL, SECAM and S-Video signals. In addition, like all Toshiba LCD projectors, the TLP470 and TLP471 both feature image enhancing and convenience features such as Digital Keystone Correction and freeze-frame capability. The TLP471 features Toshiba's built-in ""Visualizer"" - an 810,000-pixel digital color document camera with a one-button white balance feature to optimize image quality. The visualizer is capable of projecting written materials and three-dimensional objects directly from the surface of the projector. This allows presenters to place meeting notes, photographs, engineering drawings or even actual products on the projector surface, and display high-resolution images on a wall or screen. For close inspection, a Digital Zoom feature on all models allows users to highlight in on a particular area of the displayed image and enlarge it for an up-close view. In addition, a special Overlay (document overwriting) function on the TLP471 lets users add impact to their presentations by superimposing images from the RGB input and the Visualizer. With one touch of the Overlay button, the projector immediately superimposes the images from both sources. For example, by placing a white piece of paper on the surface of the projector and pressing the overlay button, the user can then draw on the paper to highlight images displayed via the RGB input. To make presentations easier, the remote control of both new MediaStar projectors is a fully integrated control unit that can also control a computer by means of its wireless mouse and built-in laser pointer. The TLP471 and the TLP470 carry list prices of $5,995 and $4,995, respectively and are currently available. For more information about Toshiba LCD projectors, phone 800 346 6672 or visit www.toshiba.com/presentations.
