23-Oct-00

The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) will welcome 125 custom installation business owners to its second annual Management Conference on November 9-11, 2000 in San Diego, California. This conference is designed to address the need for growth-management training created by the steady increase in business throughout the custom installation industry. CEDIA is offering management level training in an effort to expand upon industry education and to meet the challenges businesses face in a growing industry. The two-day conference will include three keynote addresses and four intensive workshops. The program will be structured to provide CEOs/principles with the knowledge and tools needed to maximize their company's growth. The conference will offer executive level training and is intended to serve as a forum where owners and operators can collaborate to better their businesses and the industry. CEDIA has recruited keynote speakers that bring years of experience and insight to business management: - Roger Herman, a nationally recognized management consultant and an author of ten books, will present ""Keeping Good People In Turbulent Times."" His presentation will address becoming an employer of choice, stabilizing your workforce and keeping the good employees that make your business profitable. - Dr. Oren Harari, a leading management consultant and best-selling author, will present ""Leapfrogging The Competition."" Harari will share his 20 years of experience with attendees as he explains how companies can maintain a competitive advantage in this new, unpredictable environment. - Matt Weinstein, touted as the nation's foremost authority on using humor and fun in the workplace, will present ""Work Like Your Dog"" in an attempt to help attendees reduce stress and recharge their creative sides. ""Incredible growth within the industry has now mandated a need to take our education program to the management level, as well,"" said Billilynne Keller, CEDIA's Executive Director. ""Last year's inaugural conference went well beyond our expectations. A great number of our member companies are eagerly stepping up to the plate, ready to take on the challenges of managing their businesses amidst the tremendous growth this industry is experiencing,"" said Keller.
