JVC Announces New Digital Systems Division

Company Poised For New Thrust Into Digital Cinema Market

25-Oct-00

JVC Professional Products Company announced that it has reorganized its company, creating a new Digital Systems Division for the purpose of penetrating the digital cinema marketplace and better serving its broad base of broadcast and professional customers along with OEM, direct and simulation and 3D systems. The new Digital Systems Division will absorb products previously marketed under JVC's Visual Systems Division and its Digital Storage Systems Division, unifying many of JVC's high-end brands under the single direction of Jack Faiman, Vice President of JVC Professional Products Company. This reorganization precipitates JVC's rollout of many new digital cinema-capable products, such as its QXGA projector that uses a 2048 x 1536 D-ILAô device and the previously announced 4000 x 2000 D-ILA to create film-like images. JVC's existing DLA-M4000 1365 x 1024 projector is already in use at various Hollywood production companies. With the creation of this new division, JVC will concentrate its efforts in the digital cinema realm. Faiman said, ""This is an important and exciting step in JVC's growth in the electronic cinema arena. JVC has seized an opportunity to build brand identity and market share for its D-ILA technology, and we are poised for success in the coming months as we unveil many exciting new products and technologies. The creation of the Digital Systems Division will ultimately kick off a much bigger electronic cinema effort with a strong and focused sales and marketing effort.""
