Klipsch Audio Technologies has introduced the Synergy All-Weather Series - three new indoor/outdoor loudspeakers, including the consumer industryís only eight-inch two-way, that outperform competitive models, particularly in output, bass extension and controlled directivity. According to well-known industry executives, Klipsch is the only company offering such a broad breadth of products for the whole house that match in technology, materials, performance and styling. The three new Synergy All-weather models - SA-1, SA-2 and SA-3 - feature the same square TractrixÆ Horns, injection molded graphite (IMG) woofer cones, SantopreneÆ surrounds, cast polymer frames, high definition crossover networks, phase-aligned drivers and five-way binding posts as their indoor-only Synergy bookshelf counterparts (SB-1, SB-2 and SB-3). In addition, Synergy All-Weather products are made with stainless steel hardware, aluminum powder coated mounting C-brackets and grilles, and injection molded enclosures so that they wonít rust or corrode. Other benefits of Synergy All-weather include easy installation and hook-up, and the ability to be painted to match any interior or exterior color.""The new Synergy All-weather models expand the Klipsch continuum to an unparalleled total of 24 matching loudspeakers,"" said Kerry Geist, Senior Product Manager for the Klipsch Systems Integration Division. ""Whether youíre in the market for floorstanders, in-wall or in-ceiling, a subwoofer, bookshelf, surrounds, a center channel or now even outdoor loudspeakers, you can choose Klipsch with confidence because everything matches, not just sonically, but cosmetically, too.""Tim Coakley, Senior Audio Merchandising Manager for Sound Advice, said, ""Klipsch has a big story here. Theyíre the only manufacturer out there with this wide of a range of matching products, and adding the three new outdoor SKUs makes Klipsch a frontrunner for more ëshare of houseí in our market. Showing a customer two dozen loudspeakers for every part of the house that match in sound quality, technology and fit and finish is a compelling story that sells product. Klipsch is really the only company that has a story like that.""David ""Westy"" Westfall, Senior Merchandising Manager for Ultimate Electronics, said, ""This isnít just another example of a manufacturer throwing around some marketing terminology, this is real. Klipsch is a company that is out there giving customers what they want and making smart decisions about the products they bring to market. The new Synergy All-Weather speakers, for example, complete the Synergy picture and take the Klipsch listening experience outdoors. Being able to offer a customer whole-house solutions is a real competitive advantage and Klipsch certainly has a firm grasp on that.""Geist explained that the five-inch square Tractrix Horns used in the SA-2 and SA-3 as well as the new four-inch version that is used in the SA-1, have consistent 90 x 60-degree coverage patterns, delivering accurate musical reproduction with minimal sonic coloration.""Everybody knows that Klipsch loudspeakers are more efficient, more powerful and more accurate because of the design of the product and, most importantly, the use of the horn,"" Geist said. ""Thatís our heritage; itís who we are. We make horn-loaded loudspeakers because they do a better job of delivering whatís important to consumers.""According to Geist, the horn-loaded design allows homeowners to direct the sound to specific areas of their deck or backyard more accurately than direct radiator speakers, which ensures clarity for the homeowner and minimizes any disturbance to neighbors. The SA-3 is the largest of the new Synergy All-Weather monitors. Standing 16 inches high, this two-way, dual front ported bass reflex enclosure has an eight-inch IMG woofer cone and a five-inch square Tractrix Horn coupled to a one-inch titanium dome compression driver. According to Geist, titanium was chosen for the diaphragm because of its added durability and reliability in outdoor conditions. The SA-3 has a bandwidth of 55Hz-20kHz (+/-3dB) and a sensitivity of 94dB SPL. Power handling is 100 watts, 400 watts peak. The SB-2, a 14.8-inch tall version of the SB-3, uses the same five-inch square Tractrix Horn coupled to a one-inch titanium dome compression driver and a 6.5-inch IMG woofer cone. This two-way, dual front ported bass reflex enclosure has a bandwidth of 58Hz-20kHz (+/-3dB) and a sensitivity of 93dB SPL. Power handling is 85 watts, 340 watts peak. The new SA-1 monitor follows the same design philosophy as the other two new Synergy All-Weather loudspeakers, but features a 5.25-inch IMG woofer cone and a new four-inch square Tractrix Horn coupled to a one-inch polymer dome compression driver. The new horn delivers outstanding Klipsch-quality performance from an uncommonly small, value-engineered enclosure, which makes it especially suited to indoor multimedia applications. This two-way, dual front ported bass reflex enclosure has a bandwidth of 65Hz-20kHz (+/-3dB) and a sensitivity of 92dB SPL. Power handling is 75 watts, 300 watts peak. The Synergy All-Weather loudspeakers retail at (U.S. MSRP):- SA-1, $429/pair - SA-2, $529/pair- SA-3, $700/pairFor more information, visit www.klipsch.com.
