3-Nov-00

DolbyÆ Laboratories will showcase two of its most advanced pro audio products at this year's SATIS (Salon des Technologies de l'Image et du Son). The exhibition is held at the Paris Expo, Hall 4/Hall 3 - Porte de Versailles in Paris, France from November 6-9, 2000, and Dolby's products will be shown on their distributor LTRT's stand, Nos. 4F50 and 4G49. In addition, Thierry Jeandroz of LTRT will present a paper on multichannel audio delivery for broadcast on behalf of Dolby Laboratories. Technology Demonstrations Dolby professional audio products to be demonstrated on the LTRT stand include the DP570 and DM100. DP570 Dolby staff will be demonstrating the new DP570 Multichannel Audio Tool, which greatly simplifies the production of multichannel audio programs for DTV and DVD. The DP570 enables producers and DTV broadcasters to enhance the presentation quality of their multichannel audio mix. It combines the features of Dolby Digital metadata selection and receiver emulation to enable the creation of audio metadata, and it also provides monitoring capabilities. The DP570 includes many features to simplify the creation of multichannel audio programs, such as speaker selection, audio channel routing (which eliminates the need for an external router), and separate inputs for Pro LogicÆ decoding. The DP570 will be available for purchase in late January 2001. DM100 Dolby Laboratories' new handheld DM100 Bitstream Analyzer will allow audio system integrators and service engineers to quickly test the integrity and composition of Dolby Digital, Dolby E, and PCM signals in a production facility, broadcast facility, or home cinema. The DM100 also generates Dolby Digital, Dolby E, and PCM test bitstreams. It has a headphone output for monitoring any two channels simultaneously, and a built-in speaker that can monitor the sum of any channel pair. The DM100 is available for purchase as of late October 2000. Presentation Thierry Jeandroz from LTRT will give a presentation on Dolby E, as part of the ""Evolution des systËmes de compression audionumÈriques"" series of conferences held in the afternoon of Tuesday, November 7.
