DolbyÆ Laboratories will showcase two of its most advanced pro audio products at this year's Tonmeistertagung in Hannover, Germany (November 24-27, 2000, c/o Digital Audio's Booth, No. E72). In addition, Dolby staff will present a paper on multichannel audio delivery, and lead a workshop on audio metadata. There will also be a presentation on one of Dolby's newest products during the Product Forum.Technology DemonstrationsDolby professional audio products to be demonstrated on the Digital Audio stand include the DP570 and DM100. Dolby Digital 5.1 audio will also be demonstrated via a home cinema system.DP570Dolby staff will be demonstrating the new DP570 Multichannel Audio Tool, which greatly simplifies the production of multichannel audio programs for DTV and DVD. The DP570 enables producers and DTV broadcasters to enhance the presentation quality of their multichannel audio mix. It combines the features of Dolby Digital metadata selection and receiver emulation to enable the creation of audio metadata, and it also provides monitoring capabilities. The DP570 includes many features to simplify the creation of multichannel audio programs, such as speaker selection, audio channel routing (which eliminates the need for an external router), and separate inputs for Pro LogicÆ decoding. The DP570 will be available for purchase in late January 2001.DM100Dolby Laboratories' new handheld DM100 Bitstream Analyzer will allow audio system integrators and service engineers to quickly test the integrity and composition of Dolby Digital, Dolby E, and PCM signals in a production facility, broadcast facility, or home cinema. The DM100 also generates Dolby Digital, Dolby E, and PCM test bitstreams. It has a headphone output for monitoring any two channels simultaneously, and a built-in speaker that can monitor the sum of any channel pair. The DM100 is available for purchase as of late October 2000.Presentations And WorkshopTony Spath, Dolby's Marketing Director, Technology, has written a paper for Tonmeistertagung called ""Dynamic Range And Loudness Control In Multichannel Audio Delivery."" The paper will be presented in German by Roland Vlaicu, Broadcast Consultant for Dolby Laboratories, on Sunday morning, November 26 (Roter Saal).Roland Vlaicu will also lead Workshop 12: ""Audio Metadata In Action."" This will take place on Saturday morning and Monday afternoon in the Runder Saal.
