ReplayTV Inc. and AT&T Broadband will launch a joint marketing trial of digital video recorders (DVRs) and personal television, the companies announced. AT&T Broadband will begin offering ReplayTV DVRs to selected AT&T Digital Cable customers in Boston, Massachusetts and Denver, Colorado later this month. The ReplayTV DVRs will enable selected AT&T Broadband Digital Cable customers to find, digitally record and store shows for playback at any time, without the need for videotapes or complicated VCR programming. The digital video recorder also allows viewers to pause live TV and create their own instant replays. These AT&T Broadband Digital Cable customers will be able to use ReplayTV in conjunction with their existing digital set-top boxes, enabling them to combine the benefits of digital video recording with a wide range of programming available from AT&T Digital Cable. ""We are interested in learning more about our customersí interest in DVRs, including the satisfaction, operations and revenue impacts of making this functionality available as part of our digital cable service,"" said Jennifer Bater, Senior Vice President of New Products for AT&T Broadband. ""Working with ReplayTV, we will use this information to refine our plans for more integrated DVR solutions.""""By working with AT&T Broadband, we will show how ReplayTV empowers customers so they can create personal viewing schedules that meet their needs,"" said Kim LeMasters, Chairman and CEO of ReplayTV Inc.
