Sampo America Introduces DVI And HDTV Plasma Multimedia Monitors

8-Dec-00

Sampo America, a wholly owned subsidiary of the leading Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer Sampo Corp., has released the PME-42V3 Plasma Multimedia Monitor featuring digital video interface (DVI). PME-42V3 connects to any PC and the 42-inch monitor's DVI capability eliminates the need for analog conversion. Sampo's new monitor comes with both standard USB and RS232 connections. Businesses using the product in multi-display installations, such as department stores or public sports arenas, can manage the monitors from one location without the need to control each display separately. In addition to PC applications, the PME-42V3 can support HDTV signals in 480i, 480p, 1080i and 720p formats. The monitor is also well-suited to home theatre, with a flat screen and 160-degree viewing angle. Images can be viewed from anywhere in the room without the distortion common to other technologies, and the 16:9 aspect ratio allows movies to be viewed without cropping. The PME-42V3 offers a contrast ratio of 580:1. Sampo's Plasma Multimedia Monitors are available through specialty audio/video retailers and custom installers. Suggested retail price for the PME-42V3 is $8,995. Sampo America is the consumer electronics division of Sampo Corp., responsible for same brand sales in the United States. Headquarters for Sampo America are in Baldwin Park, California. For more information about Sampo America, visit www.sampoamericas.com.
