Linn Products And Digital Harmony Partner To Produce 1394-Enabled A/V Devices

Partnership Will Result In Smart Audio/Video Devices For Home Entertainment Networks

Linn Products and Digital Harmony Technologies Inc. announced a licensing agreement that gives Linn access to Digital Harmonyís growing portfolio of entertainment networking technologies, including DHIVAô IEEE 1394 transceivers, WireFree wireless audio modules and BiDAT data-hiding transceivers. Linn will incorporate Digital Harmonyís networking technology into its product line in the future. DHIVA is a complete hardware reference design that includes Digital Harmonyís standards-based firmware for device control and media stream manipulation. DHIVA-powered devices can be easily connected to entertainment networks via a single cable that replaces the tangle of audio, video and control cables found in typical entertainment systems. WireFree uses a patent-pending diversity technique that minimizes multi-path interference problems found in many of todayís wireless loudspeaker designs. Digital Harmony BiDATô transceivers transmit digital signals over traditional loudspeaker or line-level signal cables. BiDAT is an inexpensive solution for adding network control and monitoring features to loudspeakers and amplifiers.
