18-Jan-01

Multiplex Technology, Inc., a leading manufacturer and designer of high performance, multi-room video, data and telecommunication distribution equipment for home automation and entertainment, expands its line of ChannelPlusÆ video distribution panels with the DA-500A RF amplifier and DA-506 RF distribution panel. Built on the legacy of the acclaimed DA-500 and redesigned from the ground up, the DA-500A boasts a new robust power supply, greater EMI rejection and a cooler running design. The DA-500A is designed to handle an extremely wide range of input signal strengths to ensure a high quality picture with both digital, such as HDTV, and analog signals. Housed in an extruded aluminum case, the DA-500A is ideal for amplifying low level RF signals from off-air antenna or CATV signals. An ideal entry-level product for broadband distribution, the new DA-506 RF meets the needs of small distribution systems, which do not require IR control or modulator inputs. The DA-506 includes one input for CATV or off-air antenna and six outputs for television, four of which are for TVs up to 75 feet away and two can be used with televisions up to 150 feet in distance. In addition, the DA-506 offers bi-directional capabilities using a 5-42MHz return path on the antenna/CATV input, allowing compatibility with interactive CATV set-top boxes and cable modems. ""ChannelPlus has long been a provider of quality distribution products and the DA-500A and DA-506 carry on the tradition,"" said Tom Paterniti, Vice President, Multiplex Technology, Inc. ""Simply put, these products provide the utmost in quality headroom, performance and design.""
