Recognized industry expert Bill Whitlock, President of Van Nuys, California-based Jensen Transformers - lends his expertise on grounding and interfacing audio and video systems at the Ft. Lauderdale. Florida CEDIA Regional, January 28. His seminar occurs at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport Sheraton between 8-9:30am. During his seminar, entitled ""Audio/Video Systems Grounding And Interfacing,"" Whitlock will explain how signals become contaminated. Jensenís President will also provide practical techniques on eliminating annoying hum and buzz within audio and video systems without compromising safety or violating code. ""I plan to present my audience with a thoughtful discussion on the issues surrounding grounding, interfacing and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC),"" says Whitlock. ""My hope is to thoroughly educate the class on the many audio/video interconnect hazards currently taking place that are number one - unsafe and number two - violate code. The end goal of the seminar is to equip attendees with practical solutions to properly tackle these interconnect issues."" Following his Ft. Lauderdale presentation, Whitlock plans on delivering subsequent lectures on grounding and interfacing at four additional CEDIA regional events during the first half of 2001. He is conducting two seminars in March, on the 4th in Dallas, and 18th in San Francisco. Whitlock concludes his 2001 CEDIA regional schedule on April 1 in Chicago and May 6 in Stamford, Connecticut. A member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) since 1966, Whitlock has authored two AES papers and is currently active in the organizationís standards committee working group on grounding, interfacing and EMC. Since 1994, he has presented popular seminars on eliminating hum and buzz to thousands of students at industry conventions and educational events throughout the country.
