Russound Wins CES Innovations 2001 Award

A-BUS Multiroom Amplified Volume Control Recognized For Technological Excellence

The CES Innovations Award committee announced that Russound and their innovative A-BUS system was judged an Innovations 2001 award winner for design excellence. This prestigious award is bestowed upon CE manufacturers whose products are deemed to be of exceptional technical merit and significant consumer benefit. A-BUS is a patent-pending technology that Russound began marketing in the fall of 2000 as a groundbreaking multi-room system. At the heart of A-BUS is a powerful amplified keypad (A-KP) that is connected to an audio source by standard CAT-5 data wire. The audio source, typically a receiver, feeds the A-BUS connecting hub and from there four of the A-KP amplified keypads can be driven. The attractive keypad supplies power, volume, status and IR control. Loudspeakers are connected directly to the keypad via two-conductor speaker wire. In most applications, the single-gang Decora style keypad would be flush-mounted in the wall and the loudspeakers would be in-wall or in-ceiling type. Russound is marketing a complete line of A-BUS products to fill a variety of applications. The Innovations Award was given to Russound for A-BUS being a unique technology and for the application of that technology in the companyís A-BK2 starter system. The starter A-BUS package consists of a connecting hub (either freestanding or in-wall), a power supply, four A-KP amplified keypads and a remote control. A universal remote control can easily be substituted. The entire A-BUS kit provides the multiroom electronic components for high quality stereo audio, up to four rooms, for about $1000 to the end user. Russound is a repeat winner of CES Innovations, as well as numerous other industry awards.
