Russound Announces Additional A-BUS Model

A-LC Local Source Input Combines Convenience And Control With Simplicity And Style

29-Jan-01

Russound, the popular New England-based manufacturer of connectivity products, introduced an important new model to their innovative A-BUS family of products. The A-LC provides local control for an A-BUS user in a single-gang Decora style plate. The A-LC provides easy connection to local source equipment such as a television, CD, tape or MP3 player or even a computer. Virtually any local source can be used as part of a local A-BUS system and controlled from the keypad or via remote control. The A-LC joins the rest of the Russound A-BUS line and will be available in spring 2001. Though Russound does not suggest a retail selling price, like all A-BUS products the A-LC will be very affordable and easy to install. The A-LC is connected with standard CAT-5 data wire and wired in series with the local A-BUS A-KP keypad or A-VC volume control. A-BUS is a patent-pending technology that Russound began marketing as a complete multiroom system in the fall of 2000. At the heart of A-BUS is a powerful amplified keypad (A-KP) that is connected to an audio source by standard CAT-5 data wire. The audio source, typically a receiver, feeds the A-BUS connecting hub and from there four of the A-KP amplified keypads can be driven. The attractive keypad supplies power, volume, status and IR control. Loudspeakers are connected directly to the keypad via two-conductor speaker wire. In most applications, the single-gang Decora style keypad would be flush mounted in the wall and the loudspeakers would be in-wall or in-ceiling type. Russound is marketing a complete line of A-BUS products to fill a variety of applications. The entire A-BUS kit provides the multiroom electronic components for high quality stereo audio, for up to four rooms, for about $1000 retail. Along with its source, simply add wire and the speakers of choice. The A-KP is powerful enough to drive most in-wall, on-wall or enclosure type loudspeakers. For special high output applications, such as a recreational room or outdoor use where additional power may be required, the A-KP provides pre-amp outputs to drive an additional amplifier or active subwoofer. Commenting on the latest A-BUS introduction from Russound, Director of Product Development Andy Lewis said, ""The A-LC is one more reason why A-BUS is such a cool idea. The A-BUS kit offers a great way for someone to have four rooms of great stereo at an affordable price and with simple installation too! Where the user might want some additional options, we are now adding products like the A-LC for extra control and flexibility."" Russound exhibited A-BUS and their entire line of multi-source, multi-zone controllers, keypads, amplifiers, loudspeakers and connectivity products at the 2001 CES. The company is also unveiled a magnificent exhibit display, newly designed to showcase the New England companyís unique technology and style.
