NadaPC And Ch.1ô Form Strategic Alliance To Bring Access To High Definition Television And Internet Service To Customers Nationwide

Ch.1ô-Enabled HD-Ready Internet/TV At Low Cost To Consumers With Subscription To NadaPC's ISP Service

NadaPC, the leading provider of free and low-cost Web appliances to consumers, and Ch.1ô announced a powerful Internet appliance distribution model that will allow a large sector of consumers to enjoy state-of-the-art HD-ready TV, which offers a full range of television broadcasting plus fully-integrated Web and e-mail access. NadaPC's 27-inch HD-ready TV, which incorporates Ch.1's Internet and TV capabilities without the need of an external PC, will be made available for $199 to consumers who sign up for 36 months of NadaPC's ISP service at $21.95 per month. At the Consumer Electronics Show, Ch.1 unveiled its Internet/TV platform with features that lets consumers easily browse the Internet, create Web and TV favorites, access preprogrammed category portals, send e-mail, shop online, chat, and operate a localized and customized television channel guide - all from the comfort of their living rooms. ""When we offer a Ch.1-enabled HD-ready TV at this low cost along with our subscription service, we will enable more consumers than ever before to access this powerful technology,"" said Jonathan Strum, Chief Executive Officer of NadaPC. The 27-inch Internet/TV supports built-in standard television and other devices such as DVD players, VCRs, DSS, cable boxes in (480p) progressive line-doubled mode, HDTV formats including 1080i, computer sources up to SVGA resolution (800 x 600) and selected USB devices. To operate the system, an integrated universal remote/keyboard/mouse with discrete IR for TV, cable, satellite, VCR, hard disk recorders and A/V receivers is included.
