Sharp Electronics Corp. introduced the NotevisionC20 LCD projector, the latest in Sharpís award-winning line of presentation equipment for business travelers. Folding the power and versatility of larger projectors into a compact, lightweight device, the NotevisionC20 features 1000 ANSI Lumens brightness, advanced imaging software and 1024 x 768 XGA resolution. The NotevisionC20 fits easily into airplane overhead compartments, making it an ideal presentation solution for sales executives, corporate trainers, and other mobile business executives. The NotevisionC20 weighs in at 5.5 pounds, or approximately the same weight of the average notebook computer, and is unusually compact (10.2 x 2.9 x 8.1, WHD inches). The C20 will accept input signals ranging from VGA and SVGA to its native XGA resolution, letting users deliver powerful presentations without worrying about the signal source. In addition to its power and compact size, the NotevisionC20 comes equipped with Sharpís PresenterPAKô feature set for ease of use and for simple, automatic image adjustment. The NotevisionC20 LCD projector will be available in March 2001 through Sharpís authorized dealer and distributor network at a list price of $5,195. The projector is backed by a three-year parts and labor limited warranty, including two years of Sharpís ""ER"" Service, a 24-hour turnaround express repair program. The NotevisionC20 is the most recent Sharp innovation for the mobile business market, where Sharp pioneered the mid-priced, high quality LCD projector. The Notevision Series projectors are designed to meet the needs of mobile executives who require compact, powerful, highly functional and easy-to-use projectors at a reasonable cost. ""We designed the NotevisionC20 with the mobile business user in mind,"" said Jerry Ganguzza, Associate Director for Sharpís Professional LCD Products Division. ""The C20 is small enough so customers can easily carry it with them on business trips but powerful enough to deliver a bright, dynamic presentation. In addition, itís low-priced and remarkably easy to operate, even for a first-time user. The mobile business user shouldnít have to choose between performance and price; with the NotevisionC20, they wonít."" The NotevisionC20 features ""Wireless Remote"" capability with mouse control, intelligent ImageACE resizing and 3D digital uniformity. The unit comes equipped with numerous input/output options, including one RGB/computer/component video input, one computer/RGB output, one composite and one S-Video input, one stereo audio output and two audio inputs. In addition, the unitís RS-232C serial port lets users remotely control and diagnose projector problems through a connected PC. Sharpís exclusive PresenterPAK features a friendly graphical user interface (GUI) menu screen that is icon-based, color coded and uses common terminology rather than technical jargon. Computer connectors are color-coded to simplify setup for users who choose to use when connecting cables to connect to a PC or Mac. The NotevisionC20ís automatic and manual image adjustment features let presenters fine-tune images to ensure the sharpest presentations. Sharpís autoSYNC feature automatically adjusts computer images without having to access the projectorís menu system, and Advanced ImageACE Resizing automatically adjusts different source resolutions to match the projectorís native resolution, enabling the projector to handle images up to UXGA resolutions, and various Macintosh and electronic workstation data signals as well. NTSC, PAL, SECAM and DTV video signals are also handled through the projectorís video inputs. The C20 features digital keystone correction with edge smoothing to remove an effect that may cause projected images to appear trapezoidal, but unlike optical correction, this technique squares the edges of an image while maintaining brightness and image quality. The NotevisionC20 is also fully customizable, letting users display their companyís logo during startup and manipulate images during presentations with digital enlargement and freeze capabilities. Sharp offers a full line of LCD projectors, monitors and professional video equipment for purchase, lease or rental through its national network of authorized dealers.
