Australian inventor Keith Eichmann has developed what he believes is the most advanced RCA plug ever made. The Bullet Plugô connector (subject to patent applications worldwide) is the first major improvement to the RCA plug in decades. Listening tests carried out by Keith Eichmann reveal that many RCA plugs, including expensive audiophile varieties, slow the flow of electrons and add coloration to the audio and video signal. According to Mr. Eichmann one reason may be the large mass of poor conductive metal used for the return or ground. ìWhile most Interconnect cables are made from annealed copper with conductivity rating of 100 percent IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), most RCA plugs are made from brass with conductivity rating of 28 percent IACS.îìThe mass of brass appears to act as a bottleneck to electron flow,î he continued.Keith Eichmann also believes the return or ground collar of an RCA plug (designed to surround and make contact an RCA female socket) is a serious cause of distortion, as electrons enter the socket from multiple directions.Bullet Plug solves ìelectron flowî problems. These problems are addressed in the new Bullet Plug RCA connector. The Bullet Plug connector is designed as a miniature cable - with high conductive gold-plated Tellurium Copper (TeCu) pins providing a rapid transfer of electrons to RCA sockets. The signal pin is similar in design to that used in most RCA plugs. The return pin of the Bullet Plug connector however is revolutionary. It makes contact with the side wall of an RCA socket, in doing so concentrates electrons to one point, thereby minimizing eddy currents and distortion. This approach is similar to ìstar groundingî in amplifiers.ìWe replace the large mass of brass material normally used as the RCA plug return with a highly conductive, miniature return pin that reduces distortion and provides excellent signal transmission capabilitiesî, said Keith Eichmann.Furthermore, the pins are designed according to the Eichmann Ratioô formula that enhances electron flow. The formula is a ratio between the signal and return conductors, where the return has greater cross sectional area and mass than the signal - based on the wall thickness of the signal pin.The result when using the Bullet Plug connector is a speed and transparency of signal that is immediate and obvious. Music is faster, cleaner and more detailed; images are simply more real - like the performance of no plug at all.Because the Bullet Plug connector is easily attached to most analog, digital and video interconnect cables (9mm diameter and less), and is compatible with all RCA sockets, hi-fi and video enthusiasts can gain a big improvement in sound and picture quality for a small investment. The Bullet Plug connector will be available:- Separately in a consumer pack (US$39 for a pack of 4) - As a bulk price OEM product for cable manufacturers- Included as an integral part of the Eichmann expressô interconnect, digital and video cablesFor more information on the Eichmann Bullet Plug, visit www.eichmannCables.com.
