These processors will be positioned above the award-winning MC-1 and DC-2 Digital Controllers. With leading-edge audio processing technology, and a unique new industrial design, the MC-12 and MC-12 Balanced will continue Lexiconís preeminence in the high-end home theatre market.The MC-12 is a 12-channel digital controller with 12 configurable inputs and 3 independent zones: Main, Zone-2 and Record. Beyond the standard 5.1 outputs, the MC-12 adds rear left/right and subwoofer left/right outputs. Additionally, the MC-12 Balanced provides balanced audio outputs via XLR connectors for the Main and Zone-2 outputs. Inside and out, the MC-12 is designed with an eye toward the future. The rear panel has Auxiliary left/right outputs to provide additional audio channels and a removable access plate to accommodate connectors for new technologies. Inside, three expansion slots are available for future upgrades. The systems software can be upgraded in the field via the RS-232 port.Lexiconís proprietary Logic 7Æ technology creates a 7.1-channel output from any input. Unlike many decoders, Logic 7 is compatible with most input signals and requires no special encoding. Because the improvement it provides is clearly audible, Logic 7 is widely recognized as the finest surround decoder available for music and film.DolbyÆ Digital, THXÆ Surround EXô, DTSÆ Digital Surroundô, DTS-ES Matrix/Discrete 6.1, and Dolby Pro Logic II are also included. Custom algorithms process 24-bit/96 kHz audio in all listening modes. A fifth processor, Cirrus Logicís CrystalÆ 49326 DSP decodes DTS, DTS-ES, Dolby Digital and Pro Logic II audio sources. The three expansion slots make it possible to more than quadruple the processing power available. Input configuration allows the user to assign any source to any input. The MC-12 will automatically switch between digital and analog sources. The intuitive user interface, with color on-screen display, makes it easy to choose the appropriate speaker configuration. Three subwoofer outputs and sophisticated routing provide intelligent bass management. Analog sources are processed at 96 kHz. Digital sources use a two-stage phase-lock loop for extremely low intrinsic jitter with high rejection. Each main audio output incorporates 24-bit/192 kHz digital-to-analog converters operating in dual differential mode to ensure the highest quality performance. There are two broadcast-quality video switchers. The ultra-wide bandwidth component video switcher accepts any analog component or RGB video input signal.
