Polk Audio, a leading manufacturer of home, car and multimedia loudspeakers, unveiled its new logo. The new logo projects a more modern image for the venerated audio company, and is part of a concerted effort to attract a new generation of customers to the companyís recent product offerings, according to Matthew Polk, company co-founder.ìWe wanted a new logo that our customers would notice, but changed subtly enough that they would be hard-pressed to say what had changed,î says Matthew Polk, ìunless they looked at the new logo and the old logo side-by-side.î Since its inauguration in 1972, the original Polk Audio logo has endeared the company to legions of loyal consumers. Recent market research, however, determined that the Polk Audio logo image ìwas not growing apace with the companyís desire to design and produce more advanced speakers and audio products,î says Matthew Polk. The Polk Audio design staff ìcleaned upî the logo, eliminating the ìdatedî look while keeping the design instantly recognizable. The new logo consists of a Primary Signature with Tag Line in sans-serif Univers typeface, made up of the company name and the company position statement. This Primary Signature will henceforth appear on all Polk Audio communications, as well as all new Polk Audio products. A Secondary Signature consists of the word ìPolk,î which will appear on car audio products and wherever size and legibility constraints restrict use of the Primary Signature. The famous red Polk Audio ìheartî (which predated the ìI ©î advertising craze of the mid-70s) has been incorporated into the design through the use of ìPolk Audio Redî as the main logo color. ìOld friends know who we are and what we stand for,î says Matthew Polk, ìThis new logo is an invitation to make new friends.îPolk Audio is an international manufacturer of home, car, and multimedia loudspeakers with headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. Polk Audio speakers are sold in over 50 countries, and in specialist retail locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. For more information about Polk Audio, visit www.polkaudio.com.
