Aperion Audio Announces The SW-8PR/150, A New Cube Subwoofer With A 150-Watt Amplifier And Two Eight-Inch Passive Radiators

Web-based home theatre speaker specialist Aperion Audio (formerly EdgeAudio) expanded its product line with the introduction of a new eight-inch, 150-watt powered subwoofer that establishes a new benchmark in value. The new SW-8PR/150 delivers powerful, room-filling bass from a one-cubic foot speaker featuring state-of-the-art cabinet construction and wrapped in furniture-grade wood, all for less than $400.Measuring just over one cubic foot, the new Aperion Audio SW-8PR/150 is a high performance subwoofer that's compact enough for use in even the smallest room. A 5.1-channel home theatre system comprised of five matching 502D satellite speakers and one SW-8PR/150 is priced at $1,199.The Aperion Audio SW-8PR/150 features a 150-watt amplifier, a front-firing 8-inch driver and two 8-inch passive radiators that eliminate the ""chuffing"" noise sometimes associated with vented enclosures. Five-way binding posts are provided for high level inputs and outputs, and RCA connectors for low level inputs and outputs. Other features include a crossover variable between 40 Hz and 180 Hz, level control, phase switch, three-position power switch and a detachable power cord. Frequency response is 35-180 Hz and sensitivity is rated at 88dB.The SW-8PR/150 also features Aperion Audio's new dual-composition enclosure, comprised of an interior built using one-inch HDF (high density fiberboard) that is heavier and more uniform in density than wood or other commonly used materials. This lessens cabinet vibration and sonic distortion, resulting in smoother frequency response. The exterior is made of cherry hardwood stained to a medium cherry furniture-grade finish.
