Klipsch Introduces New Architecture And Interactivity For Award-Winning Audio Hardware Web Site

27-Jun-01

Klipsch Audio Technologies has redesigned its klipsch.com Web site, adding extensive new content and services for the siteís 280,000 unique monthly visitors. The Web site is an interactive one-stop shop for information on Klipsch home theatre, professional cinema, systems integration, and personal audio loudspeakers. Klipsch.com also serves as the cyberhome for Mondial Designsí Acurus and Aragon brands, which Klipsch acquired earlier this year. Last year, Klipsch.com was rated among the top 100 ""hottest"" hardware Web sites in the world by worldHOT.com and was honored by INFOPOP for innovative use of its Ultimate Bulletin Board software. According to Paul Jacobs, COO of the Klipsch Worldwide Products Group, the already large volume of visitors and global community of more than 6,000 registered bulletin board users is expected to double this year. He attributes popularity of the klipsch.com Web site to a passionate, fanatical dedication to the Klipsch brand shared by audio aficionados around the world. ""We have research that tells us the Klipsch brand has a 97 percent approval rating among owners,"" Jacobs said. ""Thatís about 10 to 20 percent better than any of our competition, but the numbers only tell part of the story. Itís the people who visit our Web site daily and spend hours researching and exchanging information about their Klipsch systems that capture the true spirit of why weíre in business. We donít just make and sell loudspeakers; we deliver dynamic entertainment experiences."" Jacobs said Klipsch is the only manufacturer in the consumer electronics industry offering such a broad, unregulated forum for consumers to share information, troubleshoot and, in some cases, blow off a little steam. ""We donít edit anything on the Klipsch bulletin board,"" Jacobs said. ""We leave it all there - good and bad. Weíve received a lot of great feedback from this free-expression experiment. And itís resulted in a Klipsch community with and incredibly high level of genuine customer intimacy and positive interaction."" Cris Pyle, Director of Marketing for Klipsch Audio Technologies, said the extensive new content of klipsch.com provides a library of information on the world of audio and the merits of the Klipsch brand. ""Our customers crave more information, and when they get what they want, they want more,"" Pyle said. ""The scalability of the new architecture will allow us to meet this never-ending demand for more content and continue to connect with audio enthusiasts and Klipsch fans on a more personal level."" This month, klipsch.com opens with feature stories on hard-hitting drummer Kenny Aronoff, Klipschís global partnership with Hard Rock CafÈ, and a lengthy interview with Paul Rosenberg, co-founder of Mondial Designs. In the Listening Lounge area: Sound Studio offers an inside look at up-and-coming female rocker Jennie DeVoeís quest to becoming a national recording artist, Audiophile Speak arms visitors with ""cool-guy"" technical terms, grizzled consumer electronics industry veteran Rich Brown shares his views on life, love and vinyl in Speakerboy Speaks, and two company polar opposites rate the flicks in Josh and George Do The Movies. The powerful new products database cross-references each model, listing the other Klipsch loudspeakers that match in materials, technology, performance, and styling. Visitors may also take advantage of the new comparison shop function, find the nearest Klipsch dealer, download ownerís manuals, register warranties and view product specifications via the simplified, intuitive site navigation. According to Pyle, there are 290 products in the database covering every single loudspeaker Klipsch has manufactured since Paul W. Klipsch first founded the company in 1946. ""The addition of a comprehensive product database is a big deal because so many people still own and listen to classic Klipsch systems,"" Pyle said. ""People contact us daily wanting to know what center channel to buy for their KSP-400 speakers or what surrounds go best with their KG 5.2s. Now there is an excellent resource for discovering anything and everything about all Klipsch products, both current and discontinued."" The Klipsch Market online store stocks Klipsch ProMediaô personal audio systems and accessory upgrades such as telescopic floor stands and adjustable wall brackets. The THXÆ-certified ProMedia 2.1 and ProMedia 4.1, both of which have captured numerous editorís choice awards, are currently available and the much-anticipated THXÆ-certified ProMedia 5.1 will be available in July. Through a partnership agreement with HomeCinemaAccessories.com, Klipsch is also offering leather cinema seats, movie posters, popcorn machines, red velvet rope dividers and many other authentic film-related novelties for purchase by home theatre buffs.
