Krell Industries, Inc. manufacturer high-end audio and video equipment for music and home theatre systems, announced the introduction of the highly-affordable Showcase multichannel amplifier, available in five-, six- and seven-channel configurations. Designed as the perfect complement to the Showcase preamp/processor, the amplifier shares the new KAV Series look that boasts Architechô construction for structural rigidity, and the beautiful Krellcoatô finish for years of enjoyment. When it comes to driving loudspeakers, the amplifier delivers the exemplary performance that everyone expects from Krell. The amplifier boasts Krell's latest circuit topology and a substantial power output of 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms (250 watts per channel into 4 ohms). Moreover, adjacent channels of the Showcase amplifier can be bridged to deliver 500 watts into 8 ohms. The Showcase amplifier features Krell's newest design enhancements which assure huge current capability and deliver further sonic refinement. They employ six output and two driver devices per channel. The voltage gain stages use Krell Current Modeô, discrete Class A, direct-coupled, fully-complementary circuitry. The power supply features one massive 1,400 VA toroidal transformer with 60,000 microfarads of filter capacitance. Extensive power supply filtering and decoupling between stages assures low noise and high stability. The amplifier circuitry also features very low negative feedback.Perhaps the best news regarding the Showcase amplifier is its outstanding price-to-performance ratio. With estimated pricing of $3,000 for the five-channel, $3,250 for the six-channel and $3,500 for the seven-channel version, the Showcase amplifiers are the most affordable multichannel amplifiers to be designed by Krell CEO and Chief Designer Dan D'Agostino.Shipments are expected to begin later this year to United States and worldwide markets.
