Boston Acoustics Introduces Three New Round In-Ceiling Speakers

Boston Acoustics announced the introduction of three new round in-ceiling models to its award-winning Designer Series in-wall and in-ceiling speaker line. The Designer Series speakers deliver the highly-rated ""Boston Sound"" and build quality that have made Boston speakers a popular and stylish choice in peoples homes for the past 21 years. The new DSi465, DSi485 and DSi455T2 are all finished in soft white, and can be painted to match any ceiling surface. A simple yet strong ""dog-leg"" mounting system is incorporated for easy, efficient installation. All models use Boston Acoustics' DCD deep channel design woofers and copolymer cones for deep bass extension, high power handling and years of trouble-free service.DSi455T2The DSi455T2, priced at $200 each MSRP, is a ""one-piece"" design that reproduces both channels of a stereo signal. It is specifically designed for use in small rooms or in areas where there is not enough wall or ceiling space for a pair of speakers. The DSi455T2 features two speaker inputs, a dual-voice coil 6-inch DCD woofer and two 3/4-inch tweeters (one for the left channel and one for the right channel.) The two tweeters are angle-mounted for improved stereo separation. For improved bass performance from such a small ""footprint,"" the DSI455T2 uses a unique woofer basket that allows a true 6-inch woofer to be used where normally only a 5-1/4-inch woofer would fit. The DSi455T2 is compatible with the Boston Acoustics NCBR5 new construction bracket.DSi465 And DSi485Both the DSi465 and DSi485 are round, in-ceiling, two-way speakers. Priced at $450 per pair MSRP, the VRi565 features a 6-1/2-inch deep channel design ""DCD"" woofer. The VRi585, priced at $600 per pair MSRP, sports a larger 8-inch DCD woofer. Both models are fitted with Boston Acoustics' famous 1-inch Kortec tweeter, mounted on a cleverly-designed tweeter baffle for smooth, wide, off-axis high frequency response. The tweeter baffle pivots with the tweeter to minimize diffraction and improve dispersion. The DSi465 uses the optional Boston NCBR6 new construction bracket, and the DSi485 uses the optional NCBR8 new construction bracket.
