Panasonic Introduces Unique Desktop LCD TV/DVD Player Combination

Panasonic's latest digital television innovation brings home theatre enjoyment to a desktop, tabletop or vanity. The unique TC-11LV1 is a full-featured, super-bright, 16:9 widescreen LCD television with a built-in DVD player. The TC-11LV1 boasts a 450 cd/m2 brightness level, and a contrast ratio of 500:1. Scheduled for November introduction, the TC-11LV1 joins a line of Panasonic desktop LCD TVs and unique, desktop combination LCD TV/DVD players. It will have a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $1,599.95. It displays brilliant, incredibly sharp 854 x 480-pixel images on an 11-inch screen (diagonal screen measurement). The screen's 16:9 aspect ratio lets viewers enjoy the full impact of a DVD movie in the cinematic format in which it was intended to be seen. The LCD screen also features a low reflection screen coating. The entire unit tilts up and down to adjust the viewing angle. The TC-11LV1 also features a 181-channel tuner. A built-in progressive scan converter enhances NTSC signals by progressively scanning the television picture. The result is a remarkably sharp and detailed 480p picture, with no visible scan lines.Active Light Circuitry automatically detects the brightness levels of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly, providing an expanded dynamic range from black to white peak. Active System Control technology dynamically adjusts the video signal according to image contrast. Working in tandem with Active Light Control, it adds brilliance to bright scenes and brings more depth to dark ones. The resulting vivid images promise a powerful viewing experience.The TC-11LV1 also features a built-in DolbyÆ Digital decoder as well as DTSÆ Digital Surround output, allowing users to experience the same 360-degree surround sound effect that's enjoyed in many movie theatres.
