6 Channel Advanced Resolution? Surround Sound Launch Party Set for The Fillmore in San Francisco on October 24 at 6:30 p.m. EVENT: Grateful Dead drummer, Mickey Hart, plays the 5.1 advanced resolution? surround sound remixes he produced of two classic Dead albums, American Beauty and Workingman?s Dead and hosts a Q & A session. DATE/TIME: Wednesday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. LOCATION: The Fillmore Auditorium (1805 Geary Blvd. in San Francisco). NATIONAL ANGLE: Launch of the Grateful Dead's DVD-Audio titles, personally re-mixed by Mickey Hart LOCAL ANGLE: Beginning this fall, 25 Bay-Area Century Movie Theatres will broadcast a selection of DVD-A titles from the Warner Music Group family of artists. Prior to the feature film, movie fans will hear surround sound versions of classic albums by Fleetwood Mac, the Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton, Steely Dan, and more. EVENT DETAILS: - Listen to new mixes of tracks from both albums in DVD-Audio 5.1 surround sound. - Hear instrumentation and vocals that were inaudible on the original albums. - Mickey Hart explains how he mixed these classic albums into surround sound. - Q&A with Mickey Hart and other DVD-Audio experts. - Complimentary hors d?oeuvres and no-host bar. VISUALS: - The Fillmore will be decorated with Dead memorabilia, and a light show used by the Dead will be projected. - The visuals included on the DVD-Audio discs will also be projected.
