Monster Introduces A Trio Of High Performance Home Theatre Power Management Solutions

5-Nov-01

Monster has unveiled the Monster PowerÆ Home Theatre Reference PowerCentersô HTS 5100, HTS 3600 and HTS 2600. Many so-called ""audiophile"" power conditioners feature poorly designed filters. They can't stop AC power line noise caused by motor-operated appliances sharing the line with a system. This may cause thinner sound reproduction, with poor imaging, soundstage and depth. Digital video components such as HDTV may not produce the sharpest picture and brightest color possible. Inferior filters can't stop the broadband noise produced by digital components like CD players, either. Thus, the analog filter's ability to combat AC power noise is further reduced if the unit even features an isolated analog filter. Other roadblocks include these devices' hardwired AC power cable, which typically uses smaller gauge wire that won't deliver the high current which high-powered amplifiers demand. And, users must often scroll through complicated, multi-layer LCD display menus just to operate secondary controls like programmable outlets. Monster's new PowerCenters were designed by renowned AC power authority Richard Marsh, to provide superior sound and picture quality using innovative Clean Powerô filter circuitry. This gives maximum protection for electronic components from AC power line pollution. The Home Theatre Reference PowerCenter HTS 5100 features Clean Power Stage 4 v2.0 filter circuitry to prevent AC power line noise from damaging component performance. Five separate filters provide the best quality sound and picture. The HTS 5100 is easy to customize with programmable outlets (switched, unswitched and switched/timed). Digital volt and amp meters measures AC power fluctuations. Monster's ultra-high-current PowerLineô 300AC power cable delivers peak power. A 3145 joule rating provides the highest level of energy absorption, protecting components from dangerous surge pulses. Tri-mode circuitry provides the most comprehensive power protection available. The HTS 5100 also features sequenced AC power turn-on and turn-off, and also features 24k gold contacts, a $500,000 connected equipment protection and limited five-year warranty. The HTS 5100 retails for $699.95. The HTS 3600 features Monster Clean Power Stage 3 v2.0 application-specific filters, four patented discrete filter sections and three separate coax in/out for cable TV, DBS and DSS equipment, which is also protected from AC power noise. A dimmer-controlled high sensitivity meter monitors incoming voltage available to connected equipment and their cumulative draw, expressed in amps. HTS 3600 also has a 2960 joule rating for maximum surge and spike protection, an 8-foot high-current PowerLine 200 cable and a remote activation circuit for automatic turn-on of switched/timed outlets. HTS 3600 has two switched and two switched/timed outlets for sequential power turn-on and six unswitched outlets for components that require constant current. The HTS 3600 retails for $499.95. The HTS 2600 features Monster Clean Power Stage 2 v2.0 filters, three patented discrete filter sections (ultra-high current audio, video and low current audio) and a remote activation circuit for auto turn-on of switched/time outlets. HTS 2600 has two switched and two switched/timed outlets for sequential power turn-on and six unswitched outlets for components that require constant current. The HTS 2600 comes with an extra-long, high-current, 8-foot PowerLine 200 high-current power cable and has a 2960 joule rating for surge and spike protection. The HTS 2600 also features 24k gold contacts, a $400,000 connected equipment protection and limited five-year warranty. The HTS 2600 retails for $349.95.
