Runco, manufacturer of the world's finest home theatre products, has debuted the second generation of the award-winning Reflectionô Series DLPô projectors. The new DR300 and DR300c are one-chip DLP projectors based on Texas Instruments' DMDô (Digital Micromirror Deviceô) design display technology. The Reflection DR300 and DR300c both have a native resolution of 1024 x 768, and are capable of 1000 ANSI Lumens of light output, giving them the ability to drive larger screen sizes. They also feature an 800:1 contrast ratio as a result of the improved black levels. ""We are thrilled with the success of the Reflection Series. Our goal has always been to provide the best picture quality in the business. The new Gen 2 Reflection series projectors are the best-performing projectors in their respective categories,"" says Greg Caves, Runco's National Sales Manager. ""The DR-300 breaks the $10,000 price barrier -- introducing world-renowned Runco video performance to a much wider range of consumers. The 300 series is the perfect solution for dealers and customers alike -- the flexibility and ease of setup combined with breathtaking picture quality, results in an awesome package for any home theatre design.""The DR-300 is a standalone projector; it has been designed for the budget-conscious consumer but is still packed with all the features the home theatre enthusiast requires. It will accept composite, S-Video and component/RGB -- and will automatically detect whether the signal is component or RGB, making control very easy. The projector is fully HDTV-capable (via an outboard DTV decoder), and will accept computer resolutions from 640 x 480 up to 1600 x 1200. The projector by itself has full aspect ratio control, and can be configured for use on a 16:9 screen, 4:3 screen or a 16:9 screen with an anamorphic lens. In all configurations, the projector will provide anamorphic, letterbox and 4:3 aspect ratios. The DR-300c is the DR-300 projector paired with a PFP Controller -- featuring Runco's proprietary ViViXô Pixel for Pixelô video processing technology, which matches the native resolution of the projector pixel for pixel.Additionally, the controller provides aspect ratio control with standard 4:3, letterbox and anamorphic ratios. Runco has integrated all controls for the projector into the PFP Controller for ease of control. In addition to scaling all NTSC or PAL video sources to the projector's 1024 x 768 native resolution, the controller, via its RGB/component port, passes all high definition video sources cleanly, with no processing directly to the projector. For more information on Runco International, visit www.runco.com.Manufacturer's suggested retail price for the DR300 is $8,997, and for the DR300c is $12,997.
