2-Jan-02

Sage Inc. (NASDAQ: SAGI), a leading provider of digital display processors for consumer technology and PC display products, announced that InFocusÆ Corporation (NASDAQ: INFS, OSE:IFC) will use the Sage FLI2200 deinterlacer or subsequent processors in new InFocus home entertainment projectors that require discrete deinterlacer ICs. This partnership enables InFocus to bring EmmyÆ Award-winning Faroudja video processing such as Directional Correlational Deinterlacing (DCDiô) to ScreenPlayô Series home entertainment projectors, starting with the InFocus ScreenPlay 110. ""In working with Sage to integrate video technology for both home entertainment and business projectors, we found the company's technology to offer a high level of video quality at a reasonable price,"" stated Scott Hix, Vice President and General Manager of Business Development at InFocus. ""This ideal combination of price and performance made it very clear to us that a technology partnership with Sage would be of great benefit to our customers. Incorporating Sage's display processors in our home entertainment and business projectors is a key factor in our ability to deliver projectors with groundbreaking video quality."" The next few years represent a significant opportunity for Sage display processors in the projection display market. ""The front projection business is a very fast-growing market. ""We are very excited to take this next step with InFocus. Their goal to deliver high quality projectors is a natural fit with Sage's consumer product strategy, said Dr. Nikhil Balram, Sage's Executive Vice President and General Manager for Consumer Products.
