Sampo America Announces Ultra-Thin LCD Television/PC Monitor Panels

Sampo America, a leading provider of advanced display technologies for consumer and business applications, introduced two high performance, ultra-thin LCD television/PC monitor panels designed for use in home entertainment and PC environments where space limitations prohibit the use of traditional, bulky display units. Measuring less than three inches in width (without the stand), the 15-inch LME-15S1 and 17-inch LME-17S1 each feature a built-in NTSC TV tuner and provide NTSC, PAL, SDTV and HDTV video support. The 25 ms response time and multi-scanning PC resolution display provide sharp, crisp pictures and superior video performance for both television and PC display applications, compared with that of traditional LCD panels. The LME-15S1, an XGA monitor supporting a resolution of 1024 x 768, and the LME-17S1, a SXGA monitor with a resolution of 1280 x 1024, boast a robust feature set including: a high contrast ratio of 400:1, active matrix color technology, a wide 160-degree viewing angle, full screen rescaling capability, favorite channel programming, discrete power on/off, a full-function remote control, built-in stereo speakers and a 50,000-hour backlight life. Connectivity options for the VESA-compliant, wall-mountable panels include: component video input, S-video, RGB, composite, and RGB output for daisy chaining multiple display panels. Sampo's LCD TV/PC monitors are available through specialty audio/visual retailers and custom installers. Both the LME-15S1 and LME-17S1 will be available in the second quarter of 2002 at a list price of $799 for the LME-15S1 and $999 for the LME-17S1.
