Denon Introduces The DHT-700DV Complete Home Theatre System

21-Jan-02

Denon's new DHT-700DV complete home theatre system consists of an integrated A/V receiver/DVD player, four satellite speakers, a center channel speaker, and a subwoofer, plus an illuminated remote control and all necessary cables. Unlike other home theatre-in-a-box-type systems, the DHT-700DV doesn't compromise on performance, incorporating the same renowned Denon engineering found in the company's standard-setting components. At the heart of the Denon DHT-700DV is the system's integrated receiver/DVD player, a slim design component featuring a clean, understated appearance with a minimum of front panel controls, available in elegant silver or black finishes to blend with every decor. The receiver offers a host of performance and convenience features for exceptional audio quality, control flexibility and ease of use. It delivers 35 watts into each of its five channels and includes DolbyÆ Digital and DTSÆ 5.1-channel digital decoding, for powerful, dynamic surround sound reproduction of DVD movie soundtracks and multichannel music discs. The receiver also features a built-in MP3 decoder, providing up to 10 hours of music from a single MP3-encoded CD, as well as Dolby Pro Logic II decoding, which provides 5.1-channel surround sound from two-channel stereo and Dolby Pro Logic-encoded sources, and a variety of DSP surround sound modes for enhanced multichannel music listening. External inputs are included to connect a VCR, satellite receiver or other external A/V source. The DHT-700DV's DVD player features advanced digital circuitry, precision optics and component, S-video and composite video outputs for sharp, high resolution DVD video. The DHT-700DV also offers audiophile-quality CD, CD-R and CD-RW playback, making it the perfect home entertainment system for movies and music. A convenient Auto Decode function detects the type of disc and its surround format (Dolby Digital, DTS or music CD) and automatically starts playing the disc in the appropriate format; it also automatically switches to 5.1-channel surround sound when listening to digital broadcast satellite (DBS) programming. The DHT-700DV includes a host of additional performance and convenience features such as an Auto Function button (located on the remote) that will continue playing a disc from where it was stopped even if the power was turned off, a high-quality AM/FM tuner with 40-station preset memory tuning, treble and bass controls, an optical digital output for connection to a CD recorder, and more. Complementing the receiver's exceptional performance, the DHT-700DV is supplied with high quality, magnetically-shielded speakers that deliver richly detailed, expansive, room-filling sound. The system includes four two-way satellite speakers, plus a dedicated, matched center channel speaker and a compact powered subwoofer. The satellites feature advanced-technology, 3.5-inch high compliance woofers and 3/4-inch silk dome tweeters, premium internal components, and heavy duty enclosures, to reproduce movie soundtracks and music with outstanding clarity and detail. The DHT-700DV includes a Virtual Surround Sound function that provides a surround sound effect from just two speakers, if the user cannot install all the speakers in the system. All speakers are finished in a rich medium silver-gray with matching grilles. The Denon DHT-700DV complete home theatre system is currently available at a suggested retail price of $1,149.
