Mission Electronics, the internationally acclaimed U.K.-based loudspeaker manufacturer, brings true high-end sonic performance to more affordable price points than ever before with its innovative 78 Series home theatre and stereo loudspeakers. The 78 Series is comprised of six models ranging in price from $600 to $2,000 per pair, and incorporates Mission's latest advancements in high performance loudspeaker design and manufacturing. The Mission 78 Series includes the following models: - Model 780 two-way compact monitor (1-inch tweeter, 5-1/4-inch woofer), SRP (Suggested Retail Price): $600 per pair - Model 781 two-way compact monitor (1-inch tweeter, 6-1/2-inch woofer), SRP: $1,000 per pair - Model 782 three-way floor-standing (1-inch tweeter, 5-1/4-inch midrange driver, 6-1/2-inch woofer), SRP: $1,400 per pair - Model 783 three-way floor-standing (1-inch tweeter, 6-1/2-inch midrange driver, 8-inch woofer), SRP: $2,000 per pair - Model 78ds two-way bipolar surround speaker (two 1-inch tweeters, two 4-inch woofers), SRP: $700 per pair - Model 78c two-way center channel speaker (three 1-inch tweeters in vertical array, two 5-1/4-inch woofers), SRP: $650 each The 78 Series incorporates advanced driver and enclosure technologies to achieve exceptional sonic accuracy and musical refinement. The woofers and mid-bass drivers are constructed using the company's Keraform cone material, consisting of a ceramic material impregnated into a fiber matrix, and then oven-cured. The Keraform cone material provides a high stiffness-to-mass ratio for outstanding midrange clarity, resolution and transient response. The 78 Series tweeter features a viscous-laminated soft dome material for outstanding smoothness and extension, and includes a neodymium magnet and ferrofluid cooling for high power handling capability. The tweeter is mounted using Mission's Damped Driver Isolation System (D2IS), which isolates it from the other drivers and baffle board for clearer, more articulate upper midrange and high frequencies. 78 Series loudspeakers also feature Mission's IDG Inverted Driver Geometry, which places the woofer driver above the tweeter for optimum vertical dispersion and remarkably accurate imaging and soundstaging. 78 Series loudspeakers are built to the highest standards to maximize sonic performance. The enclosures are constructed using Mission's third-generation Transverse Folded Cabinet Technology (TFCT), in which the speaker baffle, back, top and base are machined from a single piece of wood, for exceptional structural integrity and rigidity. The enclosures are filled with the company's Sonafil damping material and feature internal precision-machined contours that form non-parallel walls, to eliminate internal standing waves and cavity resonances. The highest-quality hardware and components are used throughout, including gold-plated, bi-wirable binding posts and hard-wired crossovers. Mission 78 Series loudspeakers are available in a choice of beech and black ash real wood finishes. Mission loudspeakers are exclusively distributed in North America by Denon Electronics.
