RBH Adds Two New Bass Amplifiers To Their Mix Of Award-Winning Loudspeakers

30-Jan-02

RBH Sound Inc. introduced the SA 200 and SA 400, a pair of new bass amplifiers built specifically for the passive versions of their award-winning subwoofers. Both amplifiers offer the same performance of the amps found in the powered versions of RBH's subwoofers in an attractive, rack-mountable chassis. With the advent of the powered subwoofer and the conveniences they offer, passive subwoofers have all but gone along the wayside. What about the installation that requires the subwoofer to be tucked into cabinet, or in the floor? The amplifier controls cannot be reached without tearing out the custom install you paid so much money for. This is why RBH is committed to still offering unpowered versions of their subwoofers, and building the amplifiers that power them. The SA 200 and SA 400 are rack-mountable, subwoofer amplifiers rated at 200 and 400 watts respectively. These amplifiers are built for the ultimate in performance using toroidal transformers, discrete output devices, and are rated into 2 ohms at full power output. Both amps accept either a low-level connection from a receiver or preamp, or speaker-level connections from the main left and right speakers. Auto on/off, phase, defeatable bass boost (4 dB at 25 Hz) and a defeatable low-pass crossover can be accessed from the front panel, as well as a variable crossover (40 Hz-180 Hz) and volume control for total control of the subwoofer. Short circuit and thermal protection ensure that the amplifiers wonít ""fry"" or send potentially damaging signals to the subwoofer. Suggested retail pricing of the SA 200 and SA 400 is $549 and $749, respectively, and are shipping now. For more information about RBH Sound, visit www.rbhsound.com.
