SIM2 Multimedia SpA, the parent company of SIM2 Seleco USA, Inc. and the leading manufacturer of home theatre projectors, announced the latest arrival to their Grand Cinema line of DLP Projectors: the HT 200 SWA (Super Wide Angle). Featuring a short throw distance for rear-projection applications, the HT 200 SWA makes cinema-style home theatre possible where installation and the size of the room is an issue. Built around the front-projection HT 200, the SWA is equipped with a very short 0.8:1 throw ratio lens, and was designed to give more options to home theatre enthusiasts who have limited installation capabilities. ""I've always been a fan of rear projection,"" says Dan Drook, Vice President of SIM2 Seleco USA. ""In many installations where mounting a projector just isn't possible, or there are lighting issues, rear-projection is the best possible solution."" Like the front-projection HT 200, the SWA features superb image quality. A sophisticated proprietary sealed optical design, coupled with a wide angle lens ensures superior colorimetry and gray scale tracking. The HT 200 SWA is equipped with a new six-segment color wheel, which dramatically reduces color separation artifacts (commonly referred as a ""rainbow effect"") by increasing the frequency of the colored images. The color wheel is built to SIM2 specifications, which call for a larger red segment and smaller green and blue segments. The HT 200 SWA is compatible with all current high-definition standards including 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i, and boasts a resolution of 800 x 600. The SWA also features a wide array of inputs such as composite, S-video, VGA (PC input) and RGBHV. Convenience features, such as an RS232 port for control equipment and two 12-volt trigger jacks, and 17 degrees of digital optical correction can also be found in the SWA. Available in silver, the HT 200 SWA has a suggested retail price of $7,895 and is shipping now. For more information on SIM2 Seleco USA, visit www.sim2selecousa.com.
