Paradigm Electronics Announces New, Enhanced Cinema Loudspeakers

4-Feb-02

ParadigmÆ Electronics announced changes to their Cinemaô series of palm-sizedô home theatre speakers. Although each piece may be purchased separately, Paradigm Cinema is now available in two basic configurations, the Cinema 90 and Cinema 70 systems, each comprised of four identical satellite speakers, a center channel and a subwoofer. Either system blends naturally into any home decor because of their unassuming appearance and subtle styling. Each speaker in the system employs MagneShieldô, so the Cinema speakers can be used safely with any computer or home theatre, while enhancing any television, gaming, DVD or music listening experience. Paradigm has improved the technology behind Cinema by using new materials for the bass/midrange and high-frequency drivers. The Cinema 90 boasts a 4-1/2-inch polypropylene cone bass/midrange driver and a 5/8-inch coated polymer-composite (CPCô) dome tweeter. The Cinema CC has two 4-1/2-inch polypropylene cone bass/midrange drivers and a 5/8-inch CPC dome tweeter. The powerful performance of the PDR-10 is more than prepared for the challenging dynamics of a home theatre environment, pumping out 100 watts RMS of smooth, deep bass through its 10-inch carbon fiber-reinforced cone. Cinema 70 is an even smaller, high-performance package, manufactured with the same high quality parts. The speakers consist of 3-1/2-inch bass/midrange drivers, 5/8-inch high frequency drivers, and a PDR-8 subwoofer. The Cinema 90 and Cinema 70 are available in black, white or silver and retail for $936 and $716, respectively. Individual speaker prices are $229 per pair for Cinema 90, $149 per pair for Cinema 70, and $129 for Cinema CC. The PDR-8 is $299 and the PDR-10 is $349.
