Beatty, Campenella, Davis, Spielberg And Stallone To Present At ASC Awards

Warren Beatty, Joe Campenella, Gil Cates, Geena Davis, Jeff Fahey, Steven Spielberg and Sylvester Stallone will present awards at the 16th Annual American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Awards on Sunday, February 17, 2002, at the Century Plaza Hotel. Honorees that evening include Stanley Donen, Laszlo Kovacs, ASC (""Easy Rider""), Garrett Brown (inventor of the Steadicam), and Douglas Slocombe, BSC (""Julia,"" ""Raiders Of The Lost Ark""). Awards will also be handed out in four categories including feature film, episodic television and television movie/pilot/miniseries. The ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards were inaugurated in 1986 with the purpose of providing a forum for recognizing and inspiring artistic achievement in cinematography. The ASC was chartered in 1919 by cinematographers dedicated to the art and craft of filmmaking. From the beginning, membership has been by invitation based on the individual's body of narrative work.
