SIM2 Seleco Offers HT300 Projector With Native 720p Resolution

3-May-02

Designed to render a cinematic experience, the SIM2 HT300 DLPô projector is part of SIM2 Seleco USA's Grand Cinema line. Based on the 16:9 Texas Instruments Digital Light Processingô chipset, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels for support of native 720p HDTV, the HT300 projector delivers high-definition capability. A proprietary design exclusive to SIM2, the HT300 features a new sealed optical engine. SIM2 says that they are the only manufacturer that seals the entire light path -- everything after the lamp and up to the lens is sealed. The benefits of this is that the HT300 does not have to use a filter on the intake fan to block dust and contaminates from entering the light engine. The sealed light engine provides the HT 300 with a longer life span on its parts and the projector as a whole. The result, by design, is said to dramatically improve contrast, resolution, and color rendition. The built-in deinterlacer and video enhancement (DCDiô) powered by Faroudja (a division of Sage, Inc.) applies motion adaptive deinterlacing that prevents the introduction of motion artifacts and jagged edges from video signals that originated from video cameras. The DCDi also features patented 3:2 pull-down with advanced edit detection for reconstruction of the original film frame. The HT300 is equipped with a six-segment color wheel that dramatically reduces color separation artifacts (commonly referred to as a ""rainbow effect"") by increasing the frequency of the colored images. The HT300 features one of the highest contrast ratios at greater than 1000:1. Other features of the HT300 include double keystone adjustment with 16 degrees of optical correction and an all-new design. The HT300 includes a D-sub input for PCs. SIM2 says they are the only projector manufacturer that offers firmware upgrades through its RS-232 port. The MSRP for the HT300 is $14,995. The projector carries a one-year warranty and is shipping now. For more information, visit www.sim2selecousa.com.
