The new ATC Active 50, 100, and 150 loudspeakers supersede their predecessors with the introduction of a revised lineup of drive units for all three speakers, improving all major performance parameters, while retaining their sonic character. The Active 50, Active 100, and Active 150 benefit from the research which led to the creation of ATC's 25th anniversary SCM70. They share the same 25mm tweeter, featuring a silver voice coil and double magnet system. They also share the improved ATC midrange driver from the SCM70.The Active 50 features a 9-inch (225mm) ATC bass driver, incorporating Super Linear Magnet technology. The Active 100 and 150 both feature ATC's professional-level SLM bass drivers (Active 100, 12-inch; Active 150, 15-inch). All three of these drive units have been improved by the addition of voice coil spacers, as introduced in the SCM70, giving greater cone excursion and an even smoother low frequency response, enhanced by the port tube, now featuring a new flared opening. The three speakers continue to be available in active or passive models. All three drive units of the Active 50, and the tweeter and midrange drivers of the Active 100 and 150 are taken from ATC's SCM70ASL monitor, which won the Stereophile Guide To Home Theater's ""Platinum"" award and the magazine's ""Product Of The Year"" award in 2001.Existing owners of all three of these loudspeakers interested in upgrading their speakers should contact ATC for further information and pricing.
