Samsung has introduced two new DIRECTVÆ satellite television receivers, the SIR-S70 and SIR-S75.These feature Samsung's implementation of the Advanced Program Guideô. Utilizing Samsung's proprietary speed enhancement technology, the Advanced Program Guide is claimed to eliminates wait time, offering instant access to program listings, even days ahead. It includes a new guide search function that lets users scan program listings via the names of actors, movies and other one-step search fields. A picture-in-guide window allows viewers to continue watching a program while surfing through the listings, or they can choose Samsung's Quick Guide, which displays listings one 30-minute time slot at a time, in an opaque overlay located on top of the program.Other unique features include a simple and direct user interface, four games, on-screen caller ID, and a universal remote control.Tony Goncalves, Senior Business Development Manager for Samsung's Digital Strategy Group, states, ""Samsung is expanding its DIRECTV receiver lineup with an innovative and elegant collection of products based on superior Samsung technology.
