8-Jul-02

Digital Projection International (DPI) announced its first three-chip DLPô projector with a list price under $30,000. ""This new positioning reflects the industry's most outstanding technology and performance value,"" said Tim J. Butler, Director of Marketing Communications. ""We're breaking cost-of-entry barriers and delivering the precision capabilities of three-chip DLP displays -- digital stability, color accuracy, and extreme imaging fidelity -- at a cost of ownership that was previously unimaginable."" At $29,995 (without lens), the HIGHlite 4100gv features XGA native resolution (UXGA compatibility), 3,500 ANSI lumens, 500:1 on-to-off contrast, and a rugged, yet compact 95-pound chassis. DPI's proprietary, high-contrast modification and optics can be added to the unit to increase contrast performance to 800:1 (on/off).
