At the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA) convention in Las Vegas on July 17, 2002, an executive from Artisan Home Entertainment confirmed that the studio will release the Unrated Version of ""National Lampoon's Van Wilder"" in the HD-plus D-VHS platform featuring JVC's D-Theater copy protection system. The release was hoped to be day-and-date with its DVD counterpart, which is scheduled for August 20, but due to increasing demand on JVC Japan for title mastering and replication among the four studios supporting the platform, will have to follow the DVD release. The release date at this time has not been officially set, nor pricing firmed, but an announcement is expected soon.
