Samsung Electronics America has announced its first in a lineup of products in the home theatre-in-a-box (HTIB) category, the HT-DM150.Samsung's HT-DM150 offers a compatible and interconnected DVD player with a built-in audio tuner and 5.1 audio system in a compact design. It offers set-up through the on-screen menu and the added benefit of a single manual and single remote.""Samsung is bringing great value to consumers with its new home theatre-in-a-box system,"" said Russell Bleeker, Marketing Manager for Samsung Electronics America. ""Combining on our award winning DVD technology with a full featured audio setup, we have created a powerful home theatre-in-a-box package offered at a price point that makes the system accessible to a large audience.""The HT-DM150's DVD player is capable of DVD, CD, VCD, MP3, and CD-R/CD-RW playback. The HT-DM150 includes Samsung's progressive scan technology. A full complement of connections is included -- component, composite, and S-video outputs.This HTIB offers 5.1 surround sound with 46 watts per channel and a 70 watt subwoofer. It is equipped with DolbyÆ Pro Logic II decoding. A DTS-ES decoder is also included. The HT-DM150 offers a digital tuning system with 30 presets.The HT-DM150 will be available in August for $399.99 (MSRP).
