Samsung Electronics America, Inc. has introduced two new DVD/VCR combo players, the DVD-V2000 and DVD-V2500. Both models feature a four-head hi-fi VCR that includes a MTS/SAP stereo tuner and a 400x rewind speed. The DVD-V2500 adds inverse 3:2 pull-down and progressive scan component video outputs, and is the first combo player to offer the Memory Stick port.Both models feature titanium-finished front panels, an advanced graphic user interface, and are compatible with CD-R/RW for playback of MP3 and WMA music files. The Memory Stick function on the DVD-V2500 can also be used for multi-format music files. Consumers can also view their digital still camera images by utilizing the Memory Stick interface or converting their digital images to CD. The DVD-V2500 also has the ability to play back Photo CDs. The universal remote includes a joystick control that allows users to glide through DVD menus or the player's own advanced graphic user interface. The DVD-V2500 features a new front panel display, which combines a half mirror finish with blue backlighting. The DVD-V2500 also offers Samsung's progressive scan system. The DVD-V2000 is currently available at $299.99 (MSRP); the DVD-V2500 is available as of July at $349.99 (MSRP).
