Kenwood 2002 DVD Players Offer Progressive Scan And Updated Styling

Kenwood USA Corporation introduced its 2002 line of DVD players consisting of three new models, all equipped with progressive scan output, and all featuring new, updated styling. The line-leading Kenwood DV-6060 five-disc carousel features Faroudja DCDiô video processing and Analog Devices ADV7300A 108 MHz/12-bit NSV (Noise Shape Video) Precision Videoô DAC, plays DVD-Audio discs, and is equipped with a six-channel analog audio output. Other models introduced include the Kenwood DV-6050 and Kenwood DV-605 five-disc carousels that play CD, CD-R, and CD-RW, including those with MP3-encoded music files. Each player is equipped with an IR remote. Sharing the same chassis and exterior styling as the DV-6060, the DV-6050 incorporates Faroudja's DCDi deinterlacer. Audio highlights include DVD-Audio compatibility (with built-in bass management) and playback of MP3-encoded audio CD-R/RW discs. Technical highlights include 24-bit/192 kHz audio DACs, 10-bit/54 MHz video DAC, and dual-mode video black level control. A full-function remote control is included.The third unit in the lineup is the entry-level DV-605, a five-disc changer which shares the same chassis as the DV-6060. It includes progressive scan video output and MP3-encoded CD-R/RW audio playback. Technical highlights include 24-bit/96 kHz audio DACs, 10-bit video DACs, and dual-mode video black level control. A full-function remote control is included.
