KEF has announced the introduction of a new addition to its Q Series of loudspeakers with the launch of the Q2ds Dipole Surround Speaker. Utilizing the same Uni-Q driver arrays used in the Q Series loudspeakers for timbre matching, the new Q2ds creates the diffuse surround effect as experienced in movie theatres. With their twin neodymium magnet assemblies, the two 160mm Uni-Q arrays include KEF's new 19mm aluminum dome tweeters. The Q2ds also features a downward-firing, reflex-loaded, 130mm dedicated bass driver. The internally braced cabinets have a curved profile for low diffraction and aesthetic matching with the other Q Series loudspeakers, and are available in a choice of three finishes (black Ash, Maple, and Dark Apple). A keyhole mounting system allow for convenient installation on walls for optimizing positioning and surround sound effect. The KEF Q2ds Dipole Surround Speaker is available now, at an MSRP of $600 per pair. For more information, visit www.kef.com.
