Onkyo has introduced the DV-SP800 universal player that play back SACDs (Super Audio Compact Discs), DVD-Audio discs, and MP3 CDs, in addition to conventional DVDs and CDs.The progressive scan Onkyo DV-SP800 is the companyís top-of-the-line DVD player. It has earned THXÆ Ultra certification. The DVD-SP800 employs Analog Devicesí NSV Precision Video 108 MHz/12-bit video DACs, as well as inverse 3:2 pulldown circuitry. For audio reproduction, the DV-SP800 features high-quality 192 kHz/24-bit DACs, and Onkyo's Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) to remove unwanted pulse noise for a smoother analog output signal. The player features onboard DTSÆ and DolbyÆ Digital processing, as well as digital audio outputs. Onkyo's Direct-Digital Path is claimed to preserve signal integrity, bypassing redundant processing on signals to the coaxial and optical digital outputs.
