DWIN Announces New 720p High-Definition DLP Projector

24-Sep-02

DWIN Electronics has announced the introduction of a new 16:9 720p high-definition projector system featuring DLPô technology. The TransVisionô TV2 combines the new 1280 x 720 DMD from Texas Instruments with DWIN's video processing electronics and digital home theatre features. The DWIN TransVision TV2 is a combination of two complementary components, a 16:9 DLP-based projector and a video controller. The TransVisionô controller accepts video signals from virtually all video sources. DWIN's video signal processing includes Adaptive Film Mode and Signal Dynamic Range Expansion. The TransVision TV2 offers proprietary features including Automatic Aspect Ratio Recognition, which determines whether a DVD recording is anamorphic letterbox, and Automatic Image Setup and Scaling, which determines input video signal type and controls image and scaling parameters. The video controller accepts a total of nine video inputs -- two composite, two S-video, three component, and two RGBS -- and delivers the video signals to the projector via a single RGB cable. The TransVisionô TV2 can be ceiling- or floor-mounted and configured for front- or rear-projection. The Carl-Zeissô zoom lens allows throw distances ranging from 1.41 to 2.1 times the screen width. A lens shift feature adjusts the projection offset from lens level to 40 percent of the picture height. A full-featured backlit universal remote control is included. The system can also be controlled from its front panel or, through its RS-232 input, from a home theatre control computer or home automation system. For more information, visit www.dwin.com.
