Nirotek America, a subsidiary of Niro Nakamichiís Mechanical Research Corporation (MRC), has announced that its NirosonôCinema technology will shortly begin shipping in the new NIRO TWO6.1 Home Theater System. The TWO6.1 is a complete loudspeaker and AM/FM six-channel receiver-based system, incorporating MRCís patented NirosonCinema technology. It combines six independent loudspeaker systems into two centrally located enclosures, one front and one rear, to create a 6.1 surround listening experience. The NIRO TWO6.1 system consists of virtually identical front and rear ìL+C+R In Oneî speaker enclosures with three separate speaker systems in each. Each cabinet contains three mid-woofers and three ceramic-coated dome tweeters. The front speaker enclosure adds a built-in IR sensor. The enclosures are crafted and styled with solid aluminum accents.The TWO6.1 has a 150-watt triple 8-inch subwoofer. It is a compact 12-inch cube, whose 8-inch driver is supported by two 8-inch passive radiators. The heart of the system is the A/V 6-Channel AM/FM NirosonCinema Receiver, which incorporates many sought after features including DolbyÆ Digital EXô, DTS-ESÆ, Dolby Pro Logic II, and video switching. The front display brightens upon receiving a command and a front panel optical input facilitates surround sound for high-performance gaming. The TWO6.1 utilizes the newest Cirrus LogicÆ CS49400 series processor, which in addition to performing surround duties, harnesses additional 32-bit DSP for NirosonCinema processing, system equalization, and a 24 dB/octave Butterworth crossover. Also included is a universal system remote control.The TWO6.1 system will be available beginning next month through specialty audio/video retailers. It has a retail price of $1,999.
