Polk Audio announced the introduction of three new powered subwoofers. The PSW303 (8-inch), PSW404 (10-inch), and PSW505 (12-inch) feature higher power, more robust drivers, and improved performance over their predecessors. All models feature magnetic shielding, slot-loaded bass vents, low-level and high-level inputs, unfiltered LFE input, continuously variable low-pass filter, phase switch, and polymer composite cones with hi-roll surrounds. The PSW505 ($589.95 MSRP) features a 12-inch high-excursion driver, 300-watt continuous power amplifier, and five-way binding post speaker inputs/outputs. The PSW404 (MSRP $479.95) features a 10-inch high-excursion driver, 200-watt continuous (400 watts dynamic) power amplifier. The PSW303 (MSRP $359.95) features an 8-inch woofer and a 100-watt continuous (260 watts dynamic) power amplifier. The slot-loaded bass vent used on all three models is said to minimize air turbulence at the mouth of the port.
