RBH Sound Inc. introduces an addition to their Compact Theater 5.1 and 7.1 packages--the Compact Theater-MAX. The CT-MAX utilizes the C-4 center speaker in a typical LCR (left/center/right) arrangement.""We've long thought that using the same speaker for the left, center, right, and surround channels leads to a virtually seamless, and accurate presentation of the source material,"" stated Daren Egan, Sales Manager for RBH. ""Creating an LCR system by utilizing the existing C-4 center speaker was a natural extension to the successful Compact Theater line.""The enclosure for the C-4 is constructed from a die-cast metal, making the speaker structurally inert, while the non-parallel sidewalls help eliminate internal standing waves. The dual 4-inch aluminum woofers flank a 1-inch silk dome tweeter in a typical D'Apollito array. The MS-8.1 subwoofer features two 8-inch aluminum drivers powered by an internal 200-watt amplifier. This unit is rated down to 40 Hz. The MS-8.1 also features volume control, variable crossover, and speaker-level binding posts.RBH offers the CT-MAX system in black or white, and also offers their own wall-mounting brackets and optional floor stands.Suggested retail pricing of the Compact Theater-MAX is $1,495 for the 5.1 system.
