Sales Of Audio Products Stay On Target During August

28-Oct-02

Manufacturer-to-dealer sales of audio products continued to thrive during August, according to figures released by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Specifically, sales of separate components experienced solid increases during the month, making year-to-date totals for overall sales on par with 2001. During August, factory-to-dealer sales of separate components (which include electronics components and speakers) increased nearly 20 percent, compared to the same period in 2001, with dollar sales totaling $121.3 million. The revenue gain during August helped boost the year-to-date total as well, with separate components increasing three percent over 2001 to $857.4 million. Data cited in this release is available for purchase through CEA's Market Activity Reports and Analysis (MARA) program. For more information, visit www.eBrain.org/mara.
